Dictation

Highly Available Dictation means No Busy Signals!

No downtime, and no busy signals…ever! With BayScribe, you choose how you want to dictate into the system and we ensure that your providers will never be unable to dictate a note. BayScribe’s simple and modular design allows your facility to easily expand capacity at any time. Our Never Down Architecture eliminates the limitations inherent in physical port-based systems, and BayScribe’s scalability is virtually limitless as the audio is streamed into the system over the internet using VoIP.

With our recommended and tested configurations, clients can receive virtually limitless telephony-based dictations without issue and still have limitless users accessing the system. What does that mean? It means you don’t need to worry about how many ‘ports’ you have… not today, not ever!

Your device + BayScribe Mobile = WINNER!

Mobile device proliferation is at a torrid pace in health care, and it doesn’t appear that the pace will slow any time soon. Providers are urging facilities to support their personal devices because of the not-another-device.

Click here to learn about BayScribe Mobile, an ADT-independent dictation application that providers simply love to use. Yes, LOVE IT!

Providers can get their patient lists downloaded to their iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile device regardless of the patient registration system and eliminate the need to dictate many of the demographic elements that often create delays in transcription.

Always on to ensure Patient Care 24×7

BayScribe Desktop Dictation is ideal for Radiologists, Oncologists and Pathologists, or any provider that prefers to dictate at their workstation, with the application seamlessly integrated the provider often is unaware they are dictating in a separate application. In Radiology, oftentimes the Radiologists quickly read through their reports, both backward and forward, recording, listening and editing with ease… an elegant solution truly loved by all those who use it.

BayScribe Desktop Dictation does not require ‘ports’, so there is no limit to the number of simultaneous dictations. Audio is captured through a microphone attached to the PC/Mac and instantly routed for Speech Recognition or queued for transcription. Typically, a SpeechMike is used, but any mic’ via the AV jack or USB port works as does a built in mic’ on a Tablet PC or laptop. Providers can also leave dictation ‘open’ and return to finish at another time. Those individuals that have ‘Listen access’ can listen to dictation as soon as it is completed either via the internet or over the telephone.

BayScribe works the way you do

BayScribe Hands Free Dictation utilizes the BayScribe Desktop Dictation application via goose-neck USB microphones and dictation foot pedals (three- & four- button) to easily allow those practitioners who have their ‘hands full’ to dictate with ease. Waterproof devices have been tested and approved and are also available at a discount from BayScribe upon license activation.

When a PC is not close by, we offer a Microphone/Telephone/Foot Pedal (Waterproof) combination that works just as well as with the PC. Either way, audio is captured and instantly routed for Speech Recognition or queued for transcription. Authors can also leave a dictation ‘open’ and return to finish dictating the report at another time. Those individuals that have ‘Listen access’ can listen to dictation as soon as it is completed either via the Internet or over the telephone.

BayScribe works the way you do

Digital Handhelds are effective for gathering dictation in environments where the provider is mobile; however, they lack the ability to integrate with other systems in the ways that smartphones and tablets can. For this reason, we strongly recommend moving away from this rather antiquated technology.

BayScribe Mobile allows providers to get their patient lists downloaded to their device regardless of the patient registration system. It’s just a better workflow.

If you insist, BayScribe supports:

  • Olympus DS/DS2 handhelds
  • Protege handhelds
  • Philips handhelds
  • Most digital handhelds & PDAs
The telephone doesn’t integrate with anything

For some reason, probably a lack of viable options, providers continue to dictate using the telephone, wasting valuable time and introducing room for error and delay.

You really should consider moving to BayScribe Mobile.

Traditional ‘port-based’ systems like MedQuist DEP, eScription, Dolbey, Dictaphone, DVI, Lanier, Crescendo, Spheris, Vianeta, WinScribe, etc. require customers to purchase more equipment than they need to ensure the system has capacity for peak volumes and usage, primarily because accessing the system to listen to dictation or dictating via microphone and telephone all require ports to be available.

Not with BayScribe.

BayScribe supports numerous handheld voice recorders and wireless devices on your network. Once dictations are completed, the user simply docks their handheld device and the audio is queued with the synchronous HL7/XML file containing the ADT/Patient information on the system for typing.

BayScribe provides centralized control with all day-to-day system management done within your browser, so you can manage dictation from any PC. Consolidate and centralize all of your dictation throughout the organization with BayScribe while maintaining access and control. Dictations can be grouped and re-routed, re-prioritized and/or have work types changed, all from within your browser.

You can Store, Forward, View and Transcribe multimedia files as easily as standard voice dictations… all from your browser.
