For Radiology

Hang up the phone!

The phone is history. Radiologists experience BayScribe in a seamless, virtually transparent, way… the way it should be.  No longer do the Radiologists need to pick up a phone and dial in to a dictation system, nor even log in to a dictation system. When a Radiologist logs in to the PACS, they are automatically logged in to BayScribe. They don’t need to know their BayScribe credentials… they don’t even need to know what has happened… Why should they?

As the Radiologist reads the PACS image, they need only slide the microphone into record and dictate their findings, easily submitting the report from the SpeechMike and continuing to the next report. With an integrated Dragon Naturally Speaking implementation, the Radiologist can opt to utilize Dragon for cases with negative findings for increased speed and cost savings, and then utilize traditional dictation and transcription for the lengthy and involved cases… all by just clicking a single function button on the microphone.

Intelligent. Integrated.

Whether from the PACS directly or via the barcode scanner, BayScribe captures and passes the information about the case: Accession #, Patient name, Doctor ID, Referring Physician, etc. to the transcription department simplifying the editing/transcription process. Barcode SpeechMike’s are also supported for those environments that utilize them; however, the optimal environment is one where the PACS ‘tells’ BayScribe a case is opened and BayScribe responds “begin dictating”.

BayScribe can support integration with all PACS vendors through our superior Desktop Dictation application. In addition, BayScribe supports bi-directional HL7 communication, including .MDM formatting, to keep the RIS/EHR and other systems informed as to the status of reports. When a Radiologist opens a case for transcription, the EHR is notified of an ‘open report’.

BayScribe is ‘always on’ capturing and queueing reports to be completed by the transcription department. If the PACS is operational, so is BayScribe. VMware ‘View’, the Virtual Desktop solution from VMWare, is also supported, providing instant access to the previous desktop session.

There is a better way… BayScribe.
